Sharing the Light of Christ

How can we share our light with the world? Service is only one of the ways. Even just sharing a smile or a moment of time is the light of Christ being seen though us and blessing the lives of others. I know that each of us has the capacity for so much good. We can help within our own community and follow the path that the Savior has laid forth for us. The Lord said "For inasmuch as ye do it unto the least of these, ye do it unto me." (Doctrine & Covenants 42:38)The Lord has called each of us out of love toward him to help those in need. How great is this calling!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ Can Bless Each Family

Families are the central unit to Gods plan and that is why He puts so much emphasis on them. Children raised in an environment that has the central values of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has a firmer grasp on the what is right and wrong. "Pray in your families unto the father, always in my name, that you wives and your children may be blessed" (Book of Mormon: 3 Nephi 18:21) As the role of the family declines so does the society its self.  "As we teach our children the gospel through word and example, our families are spiritually strengthened and fortified" (Apostle Robert D. Hales). This strength leads them to be stronger people in general they grow into motivated individuals who understand their purpose and will raise their children in the same capacity. If each of us put forth this effort to teach our children the Gospel of Jesus Christ our lives can change forever.

God is our Loving Father in Heaven

"Since 'God is love' (1 John 4:8), the closer we approach Him, the more profoundly we experience love. But because a veil separates this mortality from our heavenly home, we must seek in the Spirit that which is imperceptible to mortal eyes.
"Heaven may seem distant at times, but the scriptures offer hope: 'Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart' (Jeremiah 29:13)." (Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "The Love of God," Ensign, Nov. 2009, 23).

I know that I have a Father in Heaven that loves me unconditionally. I am his literal daughter and that knowledge helps me understand why he loves me so very much. I know that as we each understand our nature in relation to the nature of God we grow closer to him. We understand that we are his children and we can begin to look at ourselves and others through his eyes.
